The Board wishes to advise that the new Chiropractic & Osteopathy Practice Act 2005 was proclaimed on 27 July 2006. At the same time the General Regulations were gazetted and the new Board appointed.
Therefore the Chiropractic & Osteopathy Board of South Australia is now in operation under the new legislation. The Board is currently in the process of updating all of its publications (including all information available on this website) under the new Act and Regulations.
Detailed information will be forwarded to all registered chiropractors and osteopaths shortly via a "Notice to the Profession", and the Board also plans to conduct an Information Seminar for the profession to outline the changes and requirements under the new legislation.
In the meantime, registrants are encouraged to look through this website and peruse the revised documentation - in particular the fee schedule, new complaint/investigation documents and the DRAFT Code of Conduct (which has been revised under the new Act but is still to be approved by the Minister for Health). The "Offences" section of this website is also important as this has been updated to include all offences under the new legislation.
The "Notice to the Profession" will be circulated as soon as possible, and details on the Information Seminar will also be circulated once this has been arranged.
